Naomi Silekunola, the estranged wife of Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, has finally returned to the social media amid her divorce saga with the monarch.
Naomi has remained inactive on
social media since her controversial post announcing her split from the Ooni on
December 23.
But on Tuesday, the 28-year-old
shared a video of herself after a makeover session via her Instagram story.
In the short video, she was seen
vibing to the lyrics of ‘I Am Beauri’, a hit song by Bassey Kenneth, Nigerian
singer better known as Beekay.
“I’m a beauri, I be spec, I drip glory, I be
nobody’s ex, haters go hate o, potatoes will potate…,” the song’s lyrics read.
The mother of one has been in the
news since she announced her separation from the Ooni, citing protracted
“struggles” in their marriage and the monarch’s preferences regarding his
public image.
“Instead, His Majesty has a
picture he would love the world to see and perceive him as and another one
which is his true self. Today I announce the beginning of a new dawn and the
close of a chapter,” she had said.
“I am no longer a slave to my thoughts of
perfection. I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to
as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the queen of the
people and mother of my adorable prince.”
The palace had earlier said it
was investigating Silekunola’s Instagram page after her post.
Naomi became Ooni’s wife in late
2018.
The pair welcomed Tadenikawo,
their first child, in November 2020
